Who We Are

Who We Are

Uniwasi Foundation is a registered non-profit (Section 8 company) based in Musabani, East Singhbhum, Jharkhand. Our full name is Unified Network for Indigenous Welfare, Awareness & Sustainable Impact.

We work with tribal and marginalized communities, with special attention to children, youth, families and vulnerable groups. Many of these communities face connected barriers such as poverty, limited access to education and healthcare, weak basic services and few opportunities. We believe these problems are linked, so we connect learning, skills, health, livelihoods, rights awareness and leadership in one coordinated approach.

We do not believe in solutions brought from outside. We listen first, plan together with community members and build skills, knowledge and resources that last. Our goal is simple: to help communities become self-reliant and active participants in their own development.

The Challenge We Address

Barriers That Are Connected, Solutions That Must Be Too

Many tribal and marginalized communities in Jharkhand have deep knowledge, rich culture and strong local skills. Yet they often face barriers that hold back their children, youth and families: poverty, limited access to education and healthcare, weak basic services, and few opportunities to grow.

These barriers do not stand alone. A child who misses school may also miss meals. A family without the right documents may be unable to reach a scheme meant for them. A young person with talent may have no one to guide them toward a career. Solving one problem while ignoring the others rarely brings lasting change.

Our Core Values

At Uniwasi Foundation, communities take part in every stage of planning and execution, because lasting change belongs to the people it is meant for. We respect every person’s culture, identity, privacy and consent, with special care for children and vulnerable people. We work together with communities, companies, institutions, professionals and government agencies, and we go beyond one-time help by building skills, knowledge and leadership. We keep clear records, share our progress honestly and report to our donors and partners, including our challenges. Above all, we care for the environment and plan for long-term, inclusive development.
